Favorites: Nashville

Nash-Vegas as I like to call it. These are a few gems that I think are really worth visiting.

Martin’s BBQ

Martin’s is quintessential BBQ at its best. The atmosphere is great with community style tables, welcoming that family BBQ style eating even if it’s with perfect strangers. Order first, go to the bar and then head upstairs. Don’t miss the pulled pork shoulder, wings (any style is great) and potato salad.

Rolf & Daughters

This is a special place in germantown. Now you might be thinking why would I try this kind of resturant while down south but it’s a can’t miss. My general manager from Landmarc actually moved down there to open this restaurant. Its fun, seasonal and feels like you could be in NYC or San Francisco. Don’t miss the sourdough with seaweed butter, chicken and the Cecrmariti with cultured butter & black pepper as well as the Garganelli verde with heritage pork ragout.

Henrietta Red

First off, this restaurant is beautiful. When  you walk in you immediately feel at home. The restaurant focuses on simple, fresh ingredients. A wood burning oven, wide variety of oysters and shellfish, as well as crudos and many vegetable-forward dishes. I went for brunch and was not disappointed. Don’t walk out without trying one of their cocktails and the monkey bread.

Mas Tacos

Mas Tacos por Favor started in a 1974 Winnebago and has since become one of Nashville’s favorite eateries, known and loved for serving scratch-made Mexican cuisine. It’s no frills just the way I like my Mexican food. Don’t miss out on the tacos and the tortilla soup.

Biscuit Love

I’m not one to like to stand in line, but if you want a tasty biscuit down south this place has it. Go for the East Nasty or the Princess, once you know you know.
