After blazing across the New York dining scene with his acclaimed interpretation of haute cuisine that is equal parts reverence and iconoclasm, Marc Murphy teamed up with his wife Pamela Schein Murphy to open their first restaurant, Landmarc, in April 2004. It has since become a neighborhood favorite, serving contemporary bistro fare that blends French and Italian favorites with an award-winning wine list, all at reasonable prices, in a cutting-edge Tribeca setting and at the Time Warner Center.

Ditch Plains

Northwest winds blow in perfect swells off the shore of Ditch Plains, the legendary Montauk surf spot. It was here that Chef Marc Murphy caught his first wave – and he rode it all the way to New York City’s West Village. The raffish restaurateur and his wife Pamela Schein Murphy opened Ditch Plains, a simple yet stylish New York-style oyster bar and fish shack that pays homage to Murphy’s longboard triumph and the couple’s devotion to the sea, in April 2006. The restaurant’s mood is aquatic, evoking a sense of casual cool while surpassing all design and culinary standards.

After years of operating in the same iconic Time Warner Center in New York City, Marc has joined forces with Scott Gerber of Gerber Group to open Kingside, located at the new Viceroy Hotel. Kingside features Chef Marc Murphy’s interpretation of New American Cooking. The accessible menu takes its inspiration from Murphy’s childhood, highlighting items that trace back to his French heritage, Italian roots, American schooling and his love of travel. In addition to an extensive raw and crudo bar, appetizers include a variety of toasts, charcuterie and cheeses, salads and small plates, while larger entrees feature pastas, fish and meats with an emphasis on sharing, including some items, such as a 26 oz. Cowboy Ribeye and a Roasted Chicken, meant to be ordered for two.
